Our lunch was impressive. In a tent, we were served hot soup with garlic bread and trout ceviche. We were all stuffed afterwards!
The trail on day 1 doubles as a road to a small town and we pass locals with horses or donkeys. All are friendly and are quick to offer a friendly ¡hola!
We have porters, a guide, and a chef, which are compulsory. We saw them at the started with us today, they ran off in front, met us with a fully assembled lunch tent and latrine tent. They disassembled and ran off to the first camp!
We must be a fast group because just over an hour later (all uphill) we arrived at our camp. It's a small site with terraces above a small village. Our tents were set up when we got here and tea was served at 5.
